What is Lactobacillus Acidophilus?Lactobacillus acidophilus is a bacteria found in the stomach and intestines.Lactobacillus acidophilusis also one of the main 'friendly' bacteria's and is found in many dairy products, such as yoghurt. The bacteria ferment at an optimal pH of 5.0 and develops best at temperatures of 37c. The bacteria was given its name due to its role in breaking down sugar in milk (lactose) into lactic acid.
