Holisga L-Phenylalanine from Equisalud controls appetite, increases mood and mental acuity, and also lowers pain perception. It is a precursor to tyrosine and catecholamines (neurotransmitters). It is part of many brain neuropeptides such as somatostatin, vasopressin, melanotropin, angiotensin, and others. It is an antidepressant, as it can be converted to L-dopa or norepinephrine or epinephrine. It can also generate PEA (phenylethylamine), which elevates mood. Mental acuity increases as it is converted to dopamine or norepinephrine. Relieves pain from elevation of brain endorphins. It controls appetite, because it enhances cholecystokinin, a hormone released by the brain and indicates satiety, among other actions. In abstinence syndrome, it avoids sharp falls by regulating norepinephrine and epinephrine. It is recommended to take preferably outside meals, or as directed by a specialist. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Do not exceed the expressly recommended daily dose. Keep out of the reach of little kids. It reduces appetite and therefore cannot be given to people in whom this action may be harmful. MAO inhibitor antidepressants should not be given concurrently, nor should it be used in people with phenylketonuria or the inability to metabolize the amino acid tyrosine from phenylalanine in the liver.
