Organic Star Anise Essential Oil from Terpenic star anise from Japan is the fruit of Illicium anisatum, being very similar morphologically it is a common adulterant that must be controlled carefully as it contains shikimina which is very poisonous. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fruit. It acts as an antispasmodic, carminative, stimulating tonic. It is indicated for dyspepsia, aerophagia, menstrual odors, menopause, palpitations.
