Flowers are a subtle blend of pinks and orange shades. Position: full sun Soil: well-drained soil Rate of growth: average Flowering period: March to April Hardiness: fully hardy Bulb size: 11/12 Producing its salmon pink flowers quite early in the season, this looks sublime when underplanted with blue flowering bulbs such as scilla or muscari. Its subtle colouring will tie in with rich burgundy, purple or golden yellow. Suitable for pots or borders, the flowers can also be cut for the vase. Garden care: From September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm (6-8in) deep in fertile, well-drained soil. After flowering deadhead and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
