Hebe Burning Heart (2 litre pot)

Long flowering, evergreen shrub with purple flowers. Position: full sun or partial shade Soil: poor or moderately fertile, moist, well drained neutral to slightly alkaline soil Rate of growth: average Flowering period: July and August Hardiness: frost hardy (may need winter protection) The foliage of this colourful evergreen emerges each spring in a hot pink flush, but as the leaves ripen the pink diminishes and the grey and cream variegations become more apparent - while sometimes retaining a pink flush. This bushy shrub is primarily grown for its colourful foliage, however an added bonus is the small spikes of lilac-purple flowers, which start to emerge in midsummer. Garden care: Needs minimal pruning. Remove misplaced or frost damaged branches in late spring. Protect from severe winter weather.
