The J77 Chair is part of the collection of classics reissued by Hay, and originally designed for the FDB, a Danish consumers' cooperative, set up in 1940s to produce designer furniture for the general public at a more affordable price. A highly ingenious mix of retro lines and sleek contemporary design. The J77 chair is a new take on a true classic: the Windsor seat, very much in vogue in the 18th century. Folke Pålsson retained the main features of the traditional Windsor chair: including the use of wooden and the back created from fine spindles.
