Created by designer Tom Chung, the Piton cordless lamp is a playful allusion to the traditional battery-operated lamp. Its name comes from a climbing tool which lodges in cracks so that climbers can attach hooks, tools and ropes. Piton can be set up in various positions: you can position it vertically, horizontally, titled or even hung, if needed (cord for hanging it not included). In short, the Piton portable lamp encourages its user to explore their environment. The Piton lamp has an extruded aluminium body and a white, opalescent plastic diffuser. Suitable for outdoor use, Piton can easily be moved between the garden and the interior. The diffuser contains an integrated LED light source (replaceable). Piton has a dimmer. Its battery provides lighting for 13.5 hours (at 50% brightness) and 6 hours (at 100% brightness). The fabric USB-C charging cable is included. Tom Chung on Piton: My idea for Piton was born from the desire to recreate a rechargeable portable lamp that could be used in countless ways, whilst also working in various environments. I wanted the design to meet the inherent requirements of a torch, offering safety and warmth whilst clearly illuminating the field of vision.
