Yamaha SLG200S Steel String Silent Guitar in Trans Black - NO PSU
Acoustic guitars are some of the most beautiful instruments in the world. No matter what style you play there is something about the acoustic guitar that sounds like no other instrument. The sad thing is that to get the most out of a hollow instrument it needs to be big and it needs to be loud. Yamaha have spend years developing guitars to fight against this need for size with a silent acoustic guitar. That is right this guitar when played acoustically is unbelievably quiet but when plugged in to your PA or acoustic amp of choice you get the sound of a full sized acoustic guitar. The Next GenerationYamaha originally launched the silent guitar over 10 years ago and it has gone through multiple different versions. The SLG200 series however is the first to feature Yamahas beautiful SRT pickup and preamp system that carefully emulates the sound of a real micd up acoustic guitar straight out of the jack. With this new preamp system you get more control than ever before on a silent acoustic thanks to the ability to blend your piezo pickup under the bridge and the SRT emulated sounds, as well as add in a myriad of different effects. With all of this built in to the guitar you dont need to worry about turning up to your next gig or recording session with your microphone, guitar and possible effects you may run to the board as with this everything is built right in to the body. Solid ConstructionWhile there may not be much to the body you will be glad to know that it is still made with a solid mahogany body with rosewood and maple wings. This gives the guitar a strong and solid feel that you would recognize from years of playing acoustic or electric guitar. The neck is all solid as well with a mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fretboard for the classic acoustic feel that we all know and love. For Stage, Studio, Travel and PracticeWhile a portable and silent guitar may on the surface only look useful for a couple of situations in actuality it is a great tool for any level of musician. Now you can practice any time of day in complete silence through the built in headphone connector and even jam along to your favorite tracks thanks to the MP3 input. You can also travel with a guitar that will easily fit in a lot of cabin bag holders on pretty much any flight around the world meaning you never have to be without your guitar. It doesnt end there though as now you can also rock up to your next gig carrying just a small and lightweight acoustic and maybe a couple of cables. No more pedal or mics needed for when you next want to hit the stage. Finally you can also save lots of time at the studio by just going straight in to the desk with the SLG200S. No more spending hours getting the mic placement just right, just plug in and go.ReviewsMusic Radar - 5 StarsIt sounds remarkably good into a decent PA or acoustic amp: expect to see jaws drop, because your audience wont believe what theyre hearing from such an infeasible-looking instrument.
