The blooms are large, oval, almost egg-shaped, and sit on top of a sturdy stem in late spring. Plant in bold drifts for big impact, or tone it down with silvers and pinks. This variety is a recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Grows to 50cm. 10 × Tulipa 'Ridgedale': Large, cerise pink flowers that have a warm apricot undertone open to form generous bowls of gently ruffled petals. A stunning late flowering tulip, you'll want to plant this in generous drifts so you have some extras for the vase. Garden care: From August to November plant the bulbs 10-15cm deep and 10-15cm apart in a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil. While actively growing, keep them moderately well watered and remove the flowers after they have faded. At that stage a balanced liquid fertiliser can be applied each week for 4 weeks before they die down.
