The Venusia collection has been built around five families with evocative names - Acta, Fresia, Edone, Trama and Lorica - within which the artist explores various ways of working with metal. From the laser cut to the calendering, and from the deep punching to the Etruscan granulation which is one of the most ancient and most fascinating goldsmithery techniques which consists of welding minuscule spheres of silver and gold onto a metal sheet. This way, Elena Salmistraro is able to bring to life artisan jewellery, showcasing the expressive qualities of metal and highlighting its expressive details.
