raawii Bowl . Dimensions: Ø 23.5 x H 9.5 cm. The Omar collection is the result of a collaboration between the Danish design brand raawii and Omar Sosa - founder of Apartamento magazine. These ceramic pieces are made and glazed by hand in Portugal. In this project, characterised by its sculptural approach, the different elements are lavishly superimposed: so the two different-sized bowls can be stacked together. Surprisingly modern, the sleek silhouettes are given a twist by a rich colour palette, inspired by nature. Coming straight from a watercolour palette, these ceramic items sport a blend of joyous intensity, remarkable restraint, poetry and geometry. The balanced, refined forms give this collection an incredibly graphic aspect. This modern, elegant bowl is perfect for presenting food. It can also be used as a trinket tray. One of the key points of the Raawii collection is quality. The Raawii brand is committed to production that respects people by offering optimal conditions to its employees, craftsmen and designers. Designer Omar Sosa: “In making these products, we placed our trust in an instinctive process. Working with a lathe, the round shapes came naturally, there was no need for computers. We saw the articles rise from out of the material. I think this work was first and foremost a labour of love and detail: we focused a lot on the proportions, which are everything to us. We didn't work by trial and error, but rather by relying on instinct. Maybe that's why, in the pieces we created, I feel a kind of primitive energy. I don't want people to think that we created these items for a specific purpose. Everyone can use them as they see fit - to put a salad in or feed their dog, it doesn’t matter.’’ Note: all items are handmade and glazed in Portugal.
