Oxford Vitality Multivitamin tablets for 11 - 18 year olds 500
Our Oxford Vitality nutritionists have specifically formulated a Multivitamin tablet, aimed towards the young adult aged 11 - 18 years. The teenage years are a time of great change, including physiological and psychological adjustments. The main reason for these differences is puberty. On average, 25% of our growth occurs during this period of time. Young adults have different nutritional needs when they are 40 years old in comparison to their teenage years. Our Multivitamin tablets for teenagers aged 11 - 18 contain 22 vitamins and minerals which are specially formulated together to benefit those aged 11 - 18 years. This includes Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C, D3, E and K2, and Biotin, Calcium, Chromium, Copper, Folic Acid, Iodine, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Selenium and Zinc. Vitamin A The primary role of Vitamin A is to support normal vision. A deficiency in the vitamin can cause night blindness, a condition that is prevalent in more than 50% of countries worldwide and the main reason for blindness in children. Vitamin A is also responsible for the function of the immune system, normal Iron metabolism and cell specialisation, and the maintenance of normal skin. Children aged 11 - 18 require between 600 to 700mcg and one serving of our multivitamin tablets contains 600mcg of Vitamin A. The B Vitamins The B vitamins are well known for their energy-yielding properties, reducing fatigue and contributing to the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B1 Vitamin B1 contributes to normal energy production and psychological functioning, preventing fatigue and keeping the brain alert. Thiamine also plays a role in the normal functioning of the heart and nervous system to keep illness at bay. Teenage boys require 1,000mcg and girls require 800mcg of Thiamine each day. One dose of our Vitamin B1 tablets contains just under 700mcg of the vitamin. Vitamin B1 is also legally required to be added to white and brown flour, therefore all brown and white (but not wholegrain) bread has added Vitamin B1. Vitamin B2 Riboflavin aids the production of red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body. The vitamin also aids the functioning of the nervous system, maintains mucous membranes and helps with the metabolism of energy. Vitamin B2 also has antioxidative properties, protecting cells from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Young adults require 1.1 - 1.3mg Vitamin B2 each day and one dose of our Multivitamin tablets contains just over 850mg of Riboflavin. Vitamin B3 The vitamin helps to maintain the mucous membranes and skin, contributes to normal energy metabolism and promotes normal psychological function. In addition, Vitamin B3 plays a role in the maintenance of the nervous system. Teenage boys require 16.5mg and girls require 13.2mg. One serving of our multivitamin tablets contains 12.0mg of Niacin. Vitamin B5 Pantothenic Acid contributes to the production of energy levels, reducing fatigue and tiredness.
