Origins of Ginger Ginger is botanically known as Zingiber officinale, a spice that was considered a luxury 5,000 years ago and is now one of the most common spices utilised in the modern-day. Ginger is a rhizome, believed to have originated in the tropical jungles of Southern Asia. The Ginger we know is the root of the plant, sitting below reed-like fronds that grow to about 1m tall. Ginger is part of the same family as Turmeric - the Curcuma family. Although Ginger originated in Southeast Asia, the root has always been widely cultivated in other areas. Ginger is one of the oldest spices known to man and by the 1st century, Ginger was being cultivated in the Mediterranean regions. The spice gradually became popular in Rome and when the Roman Empire fell, the use of Ginger decreased. At that point, the price of Ginger increased and the root became a novelty ingredient. Today, Ginger is well known for its antiseptic, anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory properties. Our Ginger tablets We provide three strength options of our Ginger tablets to suit your requirements; 1,000mg, 3,200mg and 6,400mg. We also provid four quantities to suit your ideal purchasing needs. Our Ginger tablets vary in size with the lowest dosage being only 6mm in diameter and 150mg in weight, and the largest dosage being 22mm in size with a weight of 1,800mg due to its torpedo-style tablet.Our Ginger Ultra tablets are provided in the large torpedo shape. We recommend avoiding this product if you have trouble swallowing. Please note - we recommend that both the 500 and 1,000 tablet options are more suitable for use by more than one person. This is to ensure that you are receiving full use of the product before its expiry date. For one person's use, we recommend the 120 or 240 tablet options.
