Oxford Vitality Papain and bromelain tablets 1000
Why Papain and Bromelain? Papain and Bromelain are two natural ingredients that provide anti-inflammatory properties to reduce inflammation, a natural response to harmful or irritating substances. Papain Papain is an enzyme that naturally occurs in the leaves, latex, roots and fruit of the Carica papaya plant, commonly known as the plant that produces the papaya fruit. The plant is an evergreen and can reach 10m in height in a sub-tropical climate. The tree is native to Mexico and Central America where it was colloquially known as the 'tree of life' because of its properties to heal skin problems. Legend said that workers on papaya plantations had smoother hands from working with the fruits, so much so that their fingertips supposedly magically disappeared. Papain is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties. Bromelain Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple, mainly the juice and the stem. Our Bromelain is sourced from the stems of the Ananas comosus. Contrary to popular belief, the pineapple grows on the ground rather than a tree. The Ananas comosus plant can grow to 3ft in optimal conditions of bright light and high humidity levels. The fruit was very popular in the 18th and 19th century when it was deemed a tropical luxury, affordable by only those in high social standing. Like Papain, Bromelain has been linked to a reduction in inflammation in the body. Our Papain and Bromelain tablets Each tablet is 6mm in size, sold in four different quantities to suit your purchasing requirements. Please note - we recommend that both the 500 and 1,000 tablet options are more suitable for use by more than one person. This is to ensure that you are receiving full use of the product before its expiry date. For one person's use, we recommend the 120 or 240 tablet options.
