Our TabletsTurmeric is extracted from the root of the Curcuma longa plant, which grows in subtropical climates. Over the centuries it has been used in cooking, as a dye. As a dye it has been used to colour the robes of monks and priests. The root is cut, dried and powdered in order to provide access to the active compound, Curcuma. Turmeric is traditionally used in therapeutic practices, particularly in Asia where it is known as the 'warming plant'. Studies in which it has been used as an antioxidant demonstrated an important wellness benefit of reducing oxidative stress in dogs. Ginger, (also known by its botanical name Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant that originated in Southeast Asia. Its root is considered to be among the healthiest spices on the planet. It was first cultivated by the Austronesian peoples. Ginger had religious significance among Austronesians, being used in rituals for healing and for asking protection from spirits. Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger root, and our tablets contain active gingerols. Recent studies showed that nanoparticles derived from edible ginger could be a natural and safe alternative for treatment of intestinal inflammations. Bacillus coagulans is a lactic acid-forming bacterial species. The organism was first isolated and described as Bacillus coagulans in 1915 by B.W. Hammer at the Iowa Agricultural Experiment Station as a cause of an outbreak of coagulation in evaporated milk nearby. There have been a few studies into the positive effect of bacillus coagulans, which have concluded that it possesses the capacity to improve the balance of intestinal microbiota, and it may also regulate immune function, help the immune system to protect against infections and minimize inflammation-related tissue injury. It was also observed that Bacillus coagulans possesses antioxidant ability. Beta Glucans are a form of fibre. In the body, fibre is essential for bowel health, stool health and maintaining healthy blood sugars. Inadequate fibre can lead to constipation in animals. Resulting in reduced bowel movements, bloating, and uncomfortable painful stomachs. Some animals feeds neglect to add adequate fibre to their foods leading to a deficiency. Our beta-glucans come from yeast, and a studies have found that when given live yeast, there was a general increased rate of digestion and absorption of carbohydrate in dogs, and that repeated dosage of a product high in ?-glucans affected the gut microbial activity and composition in the canine gastrointestinal tract.
